Overview
Jaime Duque Park was built by Colombian pilot Jaime Duque Grisales with an unusual vision — a cultural and recreational space whose proceeds support vulnerable families across Colombia. Thirty years later, it remains one of the most singular places in the country, and one of the few attractions that genuinely works for every age group.
Inside, the park covers world history, Colombian heritage, wildlife and architecture in a way that feels more like exploration than tourism. A full-scale Taj Mahal replica sits beside the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. A zoo with over 200 species shares the grounds with a Medieval Castle, a Muisca Museum and an Aerospace Museum. There is a panoramic train, botanical gardens and a lagoon you can navigate by boat. Most visitors are surprised by how much there is — and how little it resembles anything else near Bogotá.

About the destination
The park is organized around several distinct areas, each with its own character. The Avenue of Monuments is where most visits begin — a walkway lined with scale replicas of the world's most iconic structures, from the Taj Mahal to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The level of detail is what surprises most people. The detail is what catches most people off guard. These replicas took years to build and show.
The Wakatá Zoo houses over 200 species including lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and elephants. The animals are kept in open habitats rather than traditional enclosures, which makes the experience feel closer to a wildlife sanctuary than a conventional zoo. The Botanical Garden and the Dinosaur Garden sit nearby, making this section of the park the most popular with families.
For those interested in history, the Muisca Museum documents the customs and beliefs of Colombia's most significant pre-Columbian civilization. The Aerospace Museum traces the history of aviation and space exploration through artifacts, models and interactive exhibits. The Medieval Castle adds another unexpected layer — an architectural detour that somehow fits within the broader logic of the park.
Lunch is available inside the park, and the panoramic train offers a good way to get an overview of the grounds before deciding where to spend the most time
