About the Venue
Parque Simón Bolívar is the largest metropolitan park in Colombia, covering over 113 hectares in the heart of Bogotá. Construction began in 1966, making it one of the oldest and most established green spaces in the capital. The park combines green spaces, a 10-hectare lake, cycling paths and walking trails with one of the most important outdoor event spaces in Latin America, a 37,000 square meter plaza that can hold up to 80,000 people.

The park has hosted some of the most significant concerts in Colombian history. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Green Day, Shakira and Andrea Bocelli have all performed here. It is also the permanent home of Rock al Parque, the largest free rock festival in Latin America, running since 1995, and the Estéreo Picnic, one of the most acclaimed music festivals in South America.
Beyond concerts, the park hosts a full calendar of free cultural festivals throughout the year, Rock al Parque, Salsa al Parque, Hip Hop al Parque, Jazz al Parque and the Festival de Verano among them. For international visitors, it represents one of the most accessible and culturally rich experiences the city has to offer.

How to get there
Parque Simón Bolívar sits in the middle of the city, but on festival nights the streets around it tell a different story. Traffic builds up on Avenida 68 and Calle 63 well before the doors open, and finding a ride home after thousands of people heading out at the same time is not a comfortable experience.

The park is located in Teusaquillo, between Calle 53 and Calle 63, and Carrera 60 and Carrera 68. By TransMilenio take the NQS corridor and get off at the Simón Bolívar station. On festival nights several access gates open around the park, the main entrance is on Avenida Carrera 68.

Where to eat nearby
The area around Parque Simón Bolívar has a good mix of options for before or after an event. The Salitre neighborhood, just west of the park, has several restaurants along Avenida Carrera 60 ranging from casual Colombian food to international options. For something more upscale, the Bogotá Marriott Hotel on the park's edge has CIRCO Terraza Salitre, with stone oven pizzas and a rooftop setting. On festival days, street food vendors set up around the main entrances and are part of the experience.
Where to stay nearby
The closest hotel options are in the Salitre and Corferias district, within walking distance of the park. The DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Salitre and the Grand Hyatt Bogotá are both well-regarded options in the area. The Hilton Bogotá Corferias is also nearby. For a wider range of hotels and short-term rentals, Chapinero and Zona Rosa are 15 to 20 minutes away by car and connect easily with the park on event nights.
About Teusaquillo
Teusaquillo is one of Bogotá's most livable neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, republican architecture and a pace that feels removed from the busier parts of the city. Built in the 1930s and 40s as a residential district for Bogotá's middle class, it still retains much of its original character. The arena sits at its edge, next to El Campín stadium, making this corner of the city one of the main entertainment hubs in the capital.
